The telecommunications sector is experiencing a period of deep transformations due to the presence of new operators in the traditional telecommunications sector (for example virtual operators such as MVNO, service providers such as Google, Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, etc.), due to the explosion of data traffic that needs pervasive and broadband networks and the growing need for smart networks in all sectors of activity. The needs for infrastructure development and the resulting technological implications are considerable. In general, issues related to broadband wireless networks (LTE – Long Term Evolution), the emergence of increasingly pervasive IoT networks, the emergence of multistandard networks (5G), interoperability between operator networks, data transfer between radio networks and Wi-Fi networks and the development of new services associated with data networks will be the key challenges in the telecommunications sector to be addressed in the coming years.
These technological trends and challenges generate engineering requests in all areas, from product design and testing to the development of network control devices, fields in which SinTau is qualified and fully operational. The telecommunication technologies that see SinTau more involved are: smart grids for optimal energy management, smart objects (M2M) for the collection of data and the increase of efficiency and safety, access to services via devices, cybersecurity.
In the field of cybersecurity we are involved in the creation of a test environment for devices and equipments that will speed up the development of new products and validate their capabilities and performances in relation to security needs. The project also aims to achieve innovation in the field of defining and preparing test environments for new products, with the aim of improving the flexibility of the methods and technologies available to date, so as to enable the supply service offer of specific test environments, adaptable to different types of devices, equipments and application domains.
